Prosecutor Randy Colbry gave his "report" on the Drain Commissioner.
One of the things brought up by Prosecutor Colbry was that Drain Commissioner Holzhausen started charging a fee for "waivers", which Colbry says he had no authority to do. He stated those fees should be repaid.
That's what got my attention! When the county owned up to the fact they had been overcharging for kennel license fees. They lowered the fee to what state law allows.
If they are going to go back and refund those waiver fees, which were charged without authority from the board of commissioners then they might want to seriously consider refunding those excess kennel fees that were charged in violation of state law.
It’s about time somebody took a closer look at the Shiawassee county commissioners and a few others, as well.
